2018 NFL Mock Draft - Denver Broncos Mock Draft
On this page, you will find all of our picks for the Denver Broncos in the 2018 NFL Mock Draft from Kevin Hanson.
Here are the picks in our 2018 NFL Mock Draft for the Broncos:
Round 1 - #5: Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma
The Broncos signed Case Keenum in free agency. And they used a first-round pick on Paxton Lynch two years ago. Is there long-term starter on the roster? Possibly not, and it wouldn't be a surprise if John Elway used this pick on someone like Heisman winner Baker Mayfield.
I went back and forth between Mayfield and Notre Dame's Quenton Nelson for this selection. While it's rare for guards to be drafted in the top-five, some believe that Nelson is the top prospect in this draft class -- or at worst, one of the top two or three. The deal they gave to Keenum, however, should not rule out the Broncos drafting a quarterback here. Extremely confident and playing with a chip on his shoulder, Mayfield was coached by the Broncos staff at the Senior Bowl so they got a unique experience in scouting the quarterback.
If the draft plays out this way, it will mark the first time that four quarterbacks were selected within the top-five picks. Three QBs have selected in that range in only three drafts with the most recent being 1999 -- Tim Couch (1st), Donovan McNabb (2nd) and Akili Smith (3rd).
Round 2 - #40: Dallas Goedert, TE, South Dakota State
Round 3 - #71: Austin Corbett, OG, Nevada
Round 3 - #99: Parry Nickerson, CB, Tulane
Round 4 - #106: J.C. Jackson, CB, Maryland
Round 4 - #113: Joseph Noteboom, OT, TCU
Round 5 - #149: Kameron Kelly, S, San Diego State
Round 5 - #160: Brandon Parker, OT, North Carolina A&T
