2025 NBA Mock Draft Roundups (By NBA Franchise)
Leading up to the 2025 NBA Draft, we will round up NBA mock drafts by franchise for a more convenient way to view who's being mocked to a franchise.
The following are recent mock draft picks for the Atlanta Hawks:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
13. Khaman Maluach, Duke
South Sudan's Khaman Maluach is having an excellent, efficient freshman campaign for Duke. He is raw but has a strong defensive presence as opponents are shooting just 50.4 percent at the rim with Maluach on the floor, per CBB Analytics, which ranks 98th percentile among all players. As a lob threat, per CBB Analytics, he leads all freshmen in alley-oops completed by nearly double any other player his class.
17. Nolan Traore, Saint-Quentin (France)
Based on his priors before this season, some team is likely to take a flier on Nolan Traore in the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft. But the reality is that the young French guard has simply not played very well so far this season and is likely not ready to make a positive impact in the NBA any time soon.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
14. Nolan Traore, Saint-Quentin (France)
Traore came into this draft cycle billed as a top-five pick but has not had a good season thus far in France. He's still a high-upside swing with solid size, very good speed, and real playmaking instincts for a lead guard. Defense, shooting and ball security are the swing skills that could impact his stock in the coming months.
21. Alex Karaban, Connecticut
Karaban is a smart and skilled forward who can provide some much-needed floor spacing for an Atlanta franchise that is gradually picking up some quality young assets.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Boston Celtics:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
28. Kam Jones, Marquette
Arguably the most intriguing upperclassman in this class is Kam Jones, who has the most points created in the NCAA this season, per CBB Analytics. Marquette scores 26.6 points per 40 minutes more when Jones is on the floor relative to when he is not, which ranks as the most among all high-major players this year as well.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
28. Johni Broome, Auburn
Al Horford can't play forever. Broome is the best big man in college basketball and may have just enough shooting potential to make it work in Boston.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Brooklyn Nets:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
7. Jeremiah Fears, Oklahoma
Oklahoma's Jeremiah Fears is another player who has given fans some amazing highlights as he continues to climb up draft boards. Fears can score at multiple levels from the floor and he is a fantastic playmaker on both offense and defense as well. Fears leads all freshmen in alley-oops assisted this season, per CBB Analytics. He is the second-youngest NCAA prospect we have projected in the first round behind only Flagg.
19. Ian Jackson, North Carolina
North Carolina freshman Ian Jackson has started just 5 of his 16 games played so far this season. But he is averaging 23.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game while shooting 42.9 percent on 3-pointers in those appearances. He leads all freshmen in field goals made in a transition offense and fastbreak points scored, per CBB Analytics.
26. Alex Toohey, Sydney (Australia)
Australia's Alex Toohey is a fascinating prospect who contributes well on both sides of the floor. He is a legitimately strong wing defender whose Defensive Statistical Impact (DSI) ranks as the best among those who have played more than one game in Australia's NBL, per Cerebro Sports.
27. Noah Penda, Le Mans (France)
One of the top international prospects in this class is France's Noah Penda. The forward is shooting well on his catch-and-shoot opportunities. He also has the highest Defensive Statistical Impact (DSI) among all players in the French Betclic Elite LNB Pro A this season, per Cerebro Sports.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
6. Kon Knueppel, Duke
Knueppel is skilled, he can score, and there are times when he's been Duke's primary facilitator and initiator. He's also exceeded expectations defensively, albeit surrounded by college basketball's best defense. The shooting is going to keep ticking up, and if he measures anywhere near his listed height, that's just one more box he'll check.
18. Kam Jones, Marquette
Jones may be the best guard in college basketball this year and is uniquely qualified to come into a Brooklyn program that could have significant minutes available in the backcourt and crack the rotation as a rookie.
26. Hugo Gonzalez, Real Madrid (Spain)
Gonzalez is a high-IQ wing with an equally high motor, yet he's very difficult to evaluate this year because he doesn't get a ton of minutes. Brooklyn has enough picks to make the risk worth the reward.
27. Dink Pate, Mexico City (G League)
Another home-run swing for Brooklyn with this potential jumbo guard in the making. It will be a bet on player development, though, as he'll have to develop his shooting and total floor game.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Charlotte Hornets:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
4. VJ Edgecombe, Baylor
V.J. Edgecombe is an exciting two-way prospect who can contribute on both ends of the floor. He would join Tari Eason, Matisse Thybulle, and Gary Payton II as the only high-major NCAA men's basketball players since 2009 to record both a steal percentage above 4.5 percent and block percentage 3.5 percent, per Bart Torvik. As a scorer, meanwhile, Edgecombe and Flagg are currently the only high-major freshmen with both 15 dunks and 3-pointers each so far this season.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
4. Kasparas Jakucionis, Illinois
It took him a few weeks to adapt to college basketball, but he's been playing at a very high level since the end of November. Jakucionis has backcourt size, skill, craft, a knack for operating out of ball screens, and on- and off-ball versatility. His high turnover rate is a bit of a concern, while scouts are still evaluating how well his defensive footspeed will translate.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Chicago Bulls:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
9. Tre Johnson, Texas
Texas freshman Tre Johnson is a natural scorer whose passing is better than his assist stats might suggest. He is difficult to stop in the open-court and leads all high-major freshmen in 3-pointers made in transition so far this season, per CBB Analytics.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
9. Liam McNeeley, Connecticut
This too may be higher than most have McNeeley at this point, but he's again proven to be more than just a shooter this year, as he can make decisions and facilitate some within the flow of offense. He's out now with an ankle injury but needs to prove he's a solid enough defender that he won't be targeted at the next level.
MORE: Chicago Bulls 2025 NBA Mock Draft Roundup 1.0
The following are recent mock draft picks for the Dallas Mavericks:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
22. Boogie Fland, Arkansas
Arkansas freshman Boogie Fland is an interesting guard who is an undeniably productive floor general. He currently leads all freshmen in points assisted this season, per CBB Analytics. But he is a bit undersized and struggles to finish at the rim, which does not project well for his long-term ability to contribute at the next level considering he is also not currently an elite 3-point shooter.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
23. Rasheer Fleming, St. Joseph's
As the Mavs continue to build around Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, Fleming gives them a long athlete who is averaging 1.5 blocks per game this season but is still accurate from 3-point range.
MORE: Dallas Mavericks 2025 NBA Mock Draft Roundup 1.0
The following are recent mock draft picks for the Detroit Pistons:
The Athletic — Sam Vecenie
10. Tre Johnson, Texas
Scouts can't look beyond the production with Johnson, as he's averaging 19 points per game and shooting 47 percent from the field and 42 percent from 3 as a freshman. Those are ridiculous numbers that go to show just how well-defined his scoring game is already.
But there is something of a muted reaction when I bring him up to evaluators. Largely, that's because of a couple of things. First, Johnson didn't play well in New York City in front of a bevy of scouts attending games against Syracuse and St. Joseph's. He scored 16.5 points per game in those two but shot just 11 of 36, turned it over 3.5 times per game and didn't really contribute otherwise. Indeed, that's the second main concern. Johnson just has not been all that good at anything this year beyond scoring. He showcases intriguing vision when his mind is set on playmaking for others, but he doesn't do it all that often. He averages 2.3 assists per game, but that's not a particularly high number for how often he has the ball in his hands. And while I think Johnson generally rotates around the court and knows where to be defensively, he's not disruptive on that end. There's a lot to be excited about with him as a scorer, and he's not as limited as someone like North Carolina's Ian Jackson. However, teams do want to see Johnson play a more consistently impactful brand of basketball when the ball is not in his hands.
ESPN — Givony/Woo
11. Khaman Maluach, Duke
The Pistons are in the midst of a strong season, winning half their games. They are within striking distance of potentially avoiding the play-in tournament, but BPI still gives them just a 34.6% chance of avoiding the lottery. Adding more young players might not be a massive priority for the Pistons, but a developmental big man such as Maluach could make sense for a team in this range.
He has been highly impactful in his 19 minutes per game for Duke, leading all draft prospects with a whopping +61.0 net rating, buoyed by his outstanding scoring efficiency (81% true shooting), offensive rebounding and game-changing reach. In addition, his intensity and defensive instincts have helped Duke become one of the best teams in the country on that end of the floor.
Maluach, one of the youngest prospects in this class with his 19th birthday in September, is still raw in many ways, especially offensively, and has a lot to prove in ACC play and the NCAA tournament. -- Givony

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Golden State Warriors:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
14. Labaron Philon, Alabama
Alabama freshman Labaron Philon is an excellent decision-maker with one of the most effective floaters in college basketball. As a playmaker, per CBB Analytics, he currently leads all freshmen in 3-pointers assisted (39) so far this season. His jump shot could still use some work, however, as he continues his development.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
11. Ben Saraf, Ratiopharm Ulm (Germany)
Saraf may end up being the best international player (as in non-college basketball player) in this draft, which was not the expectation just a few months ago. The southpaw has the requisite feel to play in Golden State's system but needs to figure out the shooting.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Houston Rockets:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
12. Thomas Sorber, Georgetown
Georgetown freshman big Thomas Sorber is another analytics darling. He ranks second among all freshmen in the catch-all metrics Wins Above Replacement Player, RAPM, and Defensive Win Shares, per CBB Analytics. He is integral to the success of his team. Georgetown has outscored opponents by 26.5 points per 40 minutes with Sober on the court but are outscored by 22.0 points per 40 when he is off, which is one the largest differences among all NCAA players.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
13. Khaman Maluach, Duke
The Rockets have arguably more young pieces than any franchise in the league, with essentially all five positions covered. While Maluach is admittedly still a project, particularly on the offensive end, he'd provide a complement to Alperen Sengun as a backup with size and length who can rim run, block shots, and move reasonably well laterally.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Indiana Pacers:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
18. Liam McNeeley, Connecticut
UConn freshman Liam McNeeley has had a relatively underwhelming freshman campaign relative to his expectations. But there are still flashes of promise from him, like when he had 26 points with 8 rebounds and 4 assists against Gonzaga on Dec. 14. He ranks in the 99th percentile among all NCAA players in the metric RAPM, per CBB Analytics, which is encouraging.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
20. Ian Jackson, North Carolina
Jackson has averaged over 23 points per game through his last six games. He's always been hyper-competitive and made great strides with his shooting in high school. Now it's just the feel and shot selection that scouts want to see.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Memphis Grizzlies:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
25. Adou Thiero, Arkansas
Arkansas junior Adou Thiero is one of the most impactful transfers in the nation. He fits the statistical profile that the Grizzlies front office tends to value. Other prospects potentially available in this range that are also relatively close to those thresholds include Sorber, Murray-Boyles, Johni Broome, Nique Clifford, and Danny Wolf.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
25. Labaron Philon, Alabama
Philon has exceeded all expectations this year with his two-way instincts and competitiveness to match his lead guard size. He could be an understudy for Marcus Smart in Memphis but needs to shoot it consistently.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Minnesota Timberwolves:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
15. Ben Saraf, Ratiopharm Ulm (Germany)
Israel's Ben Saraf ranks fifth-best among all players in Floor General Skills (FGS) among those with at least five games played in the Eurocup, per Cerebro Sports. He has had his hand on 32.3 percent of buckets as a scorer or distributor, via RealGM, which ranks seventh-best among all players in the Eurocup.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
15. Noa Essengue, Ratiopharm Ulm (Germany)
Essengue is one of the youngest players in the draft. He's viewed as a highly versatile defender who needs to define his translatable offense, but still has a way of impacting the game without needing significant offensive volume. If Julius Randle isn't in Minnesota past this year, the Wolves could use another frontcourt piece.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the New Orleans Pelicans:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
3. Kasparas Jakucionis, Illinois
Lithuania's Kasparas Jakucionis is one of the hottest names in draft circles right now, recording 19 points with 4 assists and 3 rebounds in just the first half against Indiana on Tuesday night. He has an effective pull-up jumper and currently leads all freshmen in unassisted 3-pointers, per CBB Analytics, while shooting 41.6 percent from beyond the arc. As a point guard, he also leads all freshmen in assists distributed at the rim per game.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
2. Dylan Harper, Rutgers
He was playing at an incredibly high level at the end of the calendar year but has recently been hampered by illness. The key with Harper is the shooting. If he's making 3-pointers, it unlocks so much else because of his size, strength, length and natural instincts with the ball in his hands — and he was 15 for 32 from behind the arc in December.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Oklahoma City Thunder:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
8. Asa Newell, Georgia
Georgia's Asa Newell is a classic rim-running big man who does not make the game too complicated for himself. He leads all freshmen in layups and dunks combined this season, per CBB Analytics, and ranks third-most among all men's college basketball players. He also currently ranks first among all freshmen in Player Efficiency Rating (PER) as well.
16. Collin Murray-Boyles, South Carolina
South Carolina sophomore Collin Murray-Boyles is perhaps the most enticing collegiate player who was not a one-and-done prospect. He is a versatile forward who is averaging 15.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals, as well as 1.2 blocks per game this season. He is someone who is ready to contribute in many ways at the next level.
21. Rasheer Fleming, St. Joseph's
One of the most surprising prospects in this class is Saint Joseph's Rasheer Fleming, who combined athleticism with shooting feel. He is currently the only player in college basketball who has recorded both 25 dunks and 3-pointers, per Bart Torvik. He ranks fourth-best among all NCAA players in the catch-all metric Wins Above Replacement Player.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
8. Asa Newell, Georgia
This is, admittedly, a little higher for Newell than I'm comfortable with, but he fits an archetype that OKC could value as a southpaw big who can, potentially, stretch the floor with his shooting and as a lob threat and simultaneously bring some defensive versatility.
17. Jeremiah Fears, Oklahoma
Fears is the most pleasant surprise in this freshman class so far. The question is whether he can sustain it. He's a big, playmaking lead guard who needs a ton of volume and isn't always especially efficient but has playmaking tools. It would be a big swing for an OKC team that is very comfortable betting on its player development.
19. Cedric Coward, Washington State
A late-blooming big wing with a 7-foot wingspan and 39% shooting from behind the arc for his career, Coward began his college career at the Division III level and only played six games this season before a shoulder injury.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Orlando Magic:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
23. Jase Richardson, Michigan State
Jase Richardson is averaging just 9.7 points and 2.6 rebounds with 2.0 assists per game. But his effective field goal percentage combined at the rim and on 3-pointers ranks in the 99th percentile among all NCAA players. Although he has not yet appeared in the starting lineup, the advanced metrics love Richardson. He ranks 98th percentile in both RAPM and 99th percentile in Win Shares per 40 Minutes, via CBB Analytics.
24. Nique Clifford, Colorado State
Colorado State senior Nique Clifford is the oldest player we have projected in the first round. But he is an upperclassman that should turn some heads based on his output this year. He is averaging 16.6 points. 9.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game during his final collegiate campaign. Clifford is also one of the leaders in Wins Above Replacement Player (WARP) and Defensive Win Shares (DWS) this season, via CBB Analytics.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
22. Collin Murray-Boyles, South Carolina
There will be questions about how his game fits with his lack of floor spacing, but Murray-Boyles is a long, strong and rugged forward, or maybe even small-ball five, who could thrive in a more supporting role.
24. Drake Powell, North Carolina
If Orlando doesn't think Jett Howard is the long-term 3-and-D wing they hoped for, Powell could offer them a prospect from that archetype, albeit one who won't be ready to make an impact just yet.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Portland Trail Blazers:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
6. Derik Queen, Maryland
Maryland freshman big man is an analytics darling who contributes in a variety of ways on both ends of the court. He had one of his best games in the NCAA scoring 27 points with 7 rebounds, 2 assists, as well as a block and a steal versus Minnesota on Monday. Currently shooting 75.7 percent at the rim, per Bart Torvik, his touch is remarkable. He has recorded the second-most win shares among all freshmen, per CBB Analytics, trailing only Flagg.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
7. Egor Demin, BYU
The biggest hiccup in Portland's rebuilding plans is that Scoot Henderson hasn't been anywhere near as good as expected through the first season-and-a-half. Picking Demin, who looks like the best passer in the draft but has inconsistent shooting and individual offense, gives them a contingency plan while simultaneously allowing them a look at playing the two lead guards together.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Sacramento Kings:
The Athletic — Sam Vecenie
8. Liam McNeeley, Connecticut
McNeeley is out for a couple of weeks with an ankle injury, and that's extremely disappointing because it came right after Connecticut had started to feature him as a primary playmaker on offense. McNeeley is one of those players who does whatever the coach asks of him and can plug a significant number of holes across the court. He's an elite shooter, hitting 38 percent from 3 so far on some difficult looks, including highly sought-after movement 3s. He passes well and makes plays for his teammates consistently. He rarely turns it over with a near 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Defensively, he's big and knows how to use his size to his advantage. He rebounds really well for his size, reading the ball off the rim at a high level. He has a complete game, and in the six games before his injury, he averaged 15 points, five rebounds and three assists for a team that hadn't lost prior to his injury since its catastrophic 0-3 run in the Maui Invitational. McNeeley and Alex Karaban are the two best players on a team coming off two straight national titles that looks poised to make another deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
ESPN — Givony/Woo
8. Egor Demin, BYU
The Kings remain in the playoff hunt after the firing of coach Mike Brown, but they also control their draft pick should their season go the other direction. After a strong start catapulted him into top-five pick discussions, Demin has become a divisive evaluation for NBA teams following several poor showings against quality competition and missing most of December due to a knee injury.
Demin has a case as the best pure passer in the draft, which coupled with his size makes him quite intriguing because teams are attracted to big, unselfish playmakers. His lack of strength and foot speed has made it difficult for him to create off the dribble, which could inhibit his ability to play a heavy on-ball role in the long run. Couple that with limited defensive utility, and there's some downside to his profile as well.
Demin still has plenty of believers in front offices, but likely will need to turn around his season to gather momentum as a high-lottery pick. -- Woo

The following are recent mock draft picks for the San Antonio Spurs:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
10. Noa Essengue, Ratiopharm Ulm (Germany)
France's Noa Essengue ranks fourth-best among all players in Defensive Statistical Impact (DSI) among those with at least five games played in the Eurocup, per Cerebro Sports. He ranks ninth-best in Player Efficiency Rating (23.1) among all qualified players in the Eurocup, via RealGM. He is also the second-youngest player in the draft.
11. Kon Knueppel, Duke
Duke's Kon Knueppel is a trustworthy wing who is impactful on spot-up possessions and when using off-ball screens. He plays winning basketball as the Blue Devils have outscored opponents by 293 points when Knueppel is on the court this season, per CBB Analytics, which is the highest plus-minus among all freshmen.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
10. Tre Johnson, Texas
Every pick San Antonio makes should be about what's best around Wemby, and Johnson has some shot-making and scoring punch that could help lighten the load for the sophomore sensation. If the Spurs think they can get him to buy into being a more willing ball-mover, cutter and defender, this pick could make a lot of sense.
12. Boogie Fland, Arkansas
If the Spurs look to solidify the point guard spot, Fland gives them the shooting necessary to space the floor around Wemby. He's added an extra dimension of burst to his game this year and proven he's capable of creating for others. Building up his body will be a requisite to withstanding the physicality of the next level.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Toronto Raptors:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
5. Ace Bailey, Rutgers
Ace Bailey is a complicated prospect with tremendous upside who is likely to have scouts split in their evaluation process. While he is 6-foot-10, there are some concerns about his shot selection and his passing. Bailey, regardless, is one of the most productive mid-range shooters among all recent prospects. But there are real reasons for evaluators to have concerns about his touch as he is shooting fairly poorly from the free-throw line.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
3. Ace Bailey, Rutgers
There's an increasingly wide range of opinions on Bailey, which is somewhat ironic considering he fits the athletic jumbo wing archetype that is in such high demand and also has some real shot-making to match. The concerns, which are the same as they were in high school, are based on his shot selection, decision-making, lack of rim pressure for such an athlete, and overall inconsistency.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Utah Jazz:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
2. Dylan Harper, Rutgers
Dylan Harper caught a nasty flu recently that limited his minutes and productivity, even losing nine pounds. Harper has an elite ability to create his own shot especially at the rim, per CBB Analytics, and he is still leading all freshmen in unassisted field goals per game by a wide margin this season. He has a strong case as the most intriguing offensive prospect in this class.
20. Egor Demin, BYU
Russia's Egor Demin was initially having one of the strongest freshman campaigns of anyone in the nation for BYU. But per our research via Bart Torvik, he currently has the largest difference between his box plus-minus on the season (5.9) relative to his performance against top-100 competition (-2.0) among all of the prospects we have projected in the first round. His size and playmaking still makes him intriguing, but perhaps another year in school could help his overall trajectory.
29. Alex Karaban, Connecticut
There are always teams looking to improve their 3-point shooting and UConn's Alex Karaban deserves some attention. He is shooting 43.0 percent on a high volume of 6.7 attempts per game, which is a career-high for the two-time NCAA national champion.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
5. VJ Edgecombe, Baylor
This is where it gets very uncertain. Edgecombe hasn't played like the top-five prospect advertised just yet, but his athleticism, competitiveness and defensive upside are undeniable. He's 9 for 21 from behind the arc in his last five games. If he can keep that pace and eliminate some of those offensive no-show nights (four points vs. Gonzaga, two vs. New Orleans, four vs. Iowa State), he could appeal to someone like Danny Ainge.
16. Derik Queen, Maryland
All Queen has ever done is produce. It started when he was a freshman at Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore, continued with Team Thrill in the Under Armour Association, and now at Montverde Academy. There will be questions about how his game will translate, especially defensively, but his hands, touch, rebounding and passing are all assets.
30. Noah Penda, Le Mans (France)
An ascending Frenchman, Penda is strong, skilled and very smart. It's very possible he continues to trend up in the coming months and isn't available by this point.

The following are recent mock draft picks for the Washington Wizards:
For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky
1. Cooper Flagg, Duke
If there was any doubt about whether or not Cooper Flagg deserves the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, he silenced it. Flagg recently recorded 42 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds versus Notre Dame. He leads all Duke players in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals per game this season. Since 2009, the only freshmen with a higher box plus-minus are Zion Williamson and Anthony Davis.
CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein
1. Cooper Flagg, Duke
Flagg continues to get better with each passing month for Duke and seems to have gained some separation from the field in the last few weeks because of it. Flagg's versatility and the totality of his overall impact have been off the charts, and if the shooting and self-creation keep trending in the right direction, he could end up being the runaway favorite for the No. 1 pick.
