Oakland Athletics 2021 MLB Mock Draft Roundup

We've been tracking MLB mock drafts from various baseball analysts, writers and bloggers via our 2021 MLB Mock Draft Database.

The Oakland Athletics have the 25th pick in Wednesday's draft and our Oakland Athletics 2021 MLB Mock Draft Roundup compiles picks for the A's in recently-updated mock drafts.

The picks listed below are sorted by when the mock draft was updated (date in parenthesis) with the most recent mocks listed first.

> MLB Tickets: Oakland Athletics Tickets

MLB.com - Mayo (6/2)
Izaac Pacheco, 3B, Friendswood (Texas) HS

All the talk with the A's has been around high school bats, with Pacheco's power potential peaking their interest.

The Athletic - Law (5/27)
Gunnar Hoglund, RHP, Ole Miss

Just a hunch here. Maybe Hoglund goes before this, but a big part of his value before he blew out his elbow was that he looked like he'd move extremely quickly to the majors -- he had some of the best command in the draft, and his stuff was good enough to get there, without much projection if any. After TJ, he's not a fast-to-the-majors guy anymore, and that takes a huge bite out of his value. The A's, meanwhile, could deliver a two-hour TED Talk on pitching prospects and Tommy John surgery; I see four guys on their current staff, including the IL, who were first-round picks and had Tommy John surgery before reaching the majors.

MLB.com - Callis (5/26)
Will Taylor, OF, Dutch Fork HS (Irmo, S.C.)

Most teams believe Taylor will opt for baseball over playing two sports at Clemson, where he'd double as a wide receiver. The Athletics could be the earliest option for two other prep position players, shortstop Alex Mooney and third baseman Izaac Pacheco.

ESPN - McDaniel (5/11)
Alex Mooney, SS, St. Mary's Prep H.S. (MI), Duke commit

Mooney is old for the prep class (19 on draft day) but otherwise performed well last summer and this spring at the plate, with improved in-game power, above-average speed and a glove that can stick at short. Mooney was scouted by Tigers GM Al Avila recently, clearly hoping he makes it to their pick at 32nd overall.
