2025 Fantasy Football Mock Draft: 12-Team Non-PPR Mock (2nd Pick)
Updated: Monday, June 16, 2025The best way to become good at something is to practice. So, what should you do if you want to draft a better fantasy football team?
Practice, of course!
Leading up to the start of the 2025 NFL season, we will use the fantasy football mock draft simulator to complete fantasy football mock drafts. And we will do so using a variety of scoring formats — point per reception (PPR), half-PPR, standard scoring and even 2-QB leagues — and league sizes.
The goal is to provide you with a good representation of the team that you may be able to draft given your league settings while also providing the rationale of why we made the picks we did.
> Our 2025 mocks will be centralized here: Fantasy Football Mock Drafts.
That said, nothing beats practicing yourself so (check out the simulator) and complete a mock in a matter of minutes.
Non-PPR Mock Draft: 12 Teams, 2nd Pick
Starting positions: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 K, 1 DST; Bench spots: 6
Note: The text below includes my picks, but click here to see the first 120 picks (10 rounds).
1.02 - Ja'Marr Chase, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
Saquon Barkley went first overall (and running backs will have more value in non-PPR formats like this), but I'd take Chase first overall regardless of the scoring format so I was thrilled to get him at 1.02. Posting career highs in his age-24 season, Chase led the NFL in receptions (127), yards (1,708) and touchdowns (17) in 2024 to become the fifth triple crown winner since the league merger. Chase had at least five catches and/or 50 yards in all but one game in 2024, but he also had several monster games. There were nine 35-point wide receiver performances league-wide in 2024, and Chase had three (one-third) of them. From Week 5 on, Chase had a 31.46% target share with a weekly minimum of 24.32%.
2.11 - Brock Bowers, TE, Las Vegas Raiders
Bowers led all tight ends in receptions (112), targets (153) and receiving yards (1,194) despite being a rookie with sub-par quarterback play. Only George Kittle scored more fantasy points on a per-game basis, and Bowers led the position in overall points. While it may be difficult to outproduce his rookie numbers, few, if any, tight ends are the focal point of their passing offense the way Bowers is. Even though the Raiders will run the ball more often in 2025, Ashton Jeanty's presence should benefit the pass catchers indirectly by helping to sustain longer drives and Geno Smith will make the passing attack more efficient.
3.02 - Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
While he would be a WR1 elsewhere, Higgins will continue to benefit from being the 1B to Chase. While he has missed exactly five games in back-to-back seasons, Higgins finished fourth (behind Chase, Justin Jefferson and Chris Godwin) among all wide receivers in fantasy points per game (non-PPR scoring) in 2024.
4.11 - James Conner, RB, Arizona Cardinals
Conner turned 30 in May and is entering his ninth NFL season. While he played 16 games last year, he has exceeded 13 games only three times in his career. That said, he's been highly productive in his four seasons in Arizona. During that four-year span, he has finished no worse than RB14 on a points-per-game basis and only three running backs have scored more touchdowns — Derrick Henry (53), Joe Mixon (49) and Austin Ekeler (48) — than Conner (44).
5.02 - Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints
I'd definitely take Kamara before Conner in full or half-PPR formats and nearly took him before Conner in this standard-scoring mock. Even though he turns 30 in July, Kamara (albeit lower in my rankings) is the RB11 in my non-PPR projections.
6.11 - DeVonta Smith, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
Smith missed four games in 2024 and while his numbers were down year over year, his per-game averages of 5.2 catches and 64.1 yards were very similar to the averages of his first three seasons (4.8/63.6). Smith finished the year as the WR19 on a per-game basis (non-PPR), and he should continue to be viewed as a mid-tier WR2 in fantasy.
7.02 - Xavier Worthy, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
In my most leagues, I'd draft more than four receivers. With Chase, Higgins and Worthy are all on bye in Week 10, I'd need to make at least one roster move to account for that. Worthy made a late-season push as a first-round rookie, which should mostly be viewed as a positive, but that was with Rashee Rice sidelined. How will the trio of Worthy, Rice and Marquise Brown all being healthy (and assuming no 2025 suspension for Rice) impact Worthy in year two? There's at least some upside, especially as a seventh-round pick.
8.11 - Cam Skattebo, RB, New York Giants
Tryrone Tracy Jr. had an impressive rookie season as a fifth-round pick (166th overall) out of Purdue. The Giants used a higher pick on Skattebo (fourth round, 105th overall) this year, and the duo should split the workload. It's possible that Skattebo outperforms Tracy in non-PPR formats, but the rookie has excellent contact balance and vision and is a tackle-breaking machine who can also be productive as a receiver out of the backfield.
9.02 - Justin Fields, QB, New York Jets
The same year (2022) that Fields threw for 2,242 yards, 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, he finished as fantasy's QB6 in points per game and overall. Of course, it was the elite rushing production (160/1143/8) that outweighed his anemic passing stats that year. Even before the Steelers benched him in favor of Russell Wilson in 2024, Fields was the QB6 in fantasy points per game through his six starts. I expect to be overweight Fields in 2025.
10.11 - Tyler Allgeier, RB, Atlanta Falcons
11.02 - Jaylen Wright, RB, Miami Dolphins
12.11 - J.K. Dobbins, RB, Denver Broncos
The next trio of running backs may be the second option in their backfields, but they all offer massive upside in the event that the team's RB1 is injured.
13.02 - Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco 49ers
While I don't typically draft two quarterbacks, Purdy is a value in the 13th round even with Brandon Aiyuk recovering from a torn ACL and Deebo Samuel no longer on the roster.
14.11 - Detroit Lions DST
15.02 - Brandon Aubrey, K, Dallas Cowboys
