2012 Fantasy Football Mock Draft - Point-Per-Reception (PPR) Scoring

Scoring: This mock draft is based on leagues that use point-per-reception (PPR) scoring.  Passing
touchdowns are worth four points while rushing and receiving touchdowns are worth six points.  One point is
earned per 25 passing yards, 10 rushing yards and 10 receiving yards.  In addition, one point is earned per
reception.

Our 2012 Fantasy Football Mock Draft (Standard Scoring)

Pick (Overall)
Contributor (Team)
Player, Pos., Team
1 (121).
Sean Beazley (Team 1)
Lance Moore, WR, Saints
This team is a mess at receiver.  His WR1 is Kenny Britt, who has had three knee surgeries in the past 10
months and
was recently arrested for DUI.  (And it was his eighth brush-in with the law since entering the
league.)  Aside from Moore and Britt, his other two receivers are the aging Reggie Wayne and Mike Williams,
who was a big disappointment last year.  I do think Moore can have a better season than last year, though,
with Robert Meachem heading to San Diego via free agency.

2 (122).
Kevin Hanson (Team 1)
Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, Raiders
Speaking of DUI arrests, DHB was arrested earlier this offseason for it as well.  Unfortunately, it seems to
have become an epidemic in the NFL.  (Hey, dumbasses, you make multi-millions per year ... hire a driver or
catch a cab; these arrests are easy to avoid.)  That said, Heyard-Bey had a breakout season setting career
highs across the board: 64 receptions, 975 yards and four TDs.  With the Raiders likely playing from behind
often, DHB should get plenty of opportunities to post similar (or better) numbers in 2012.

3 (123).
Brendan Donahue (Team 1)
Nate Washington, WR, Titans
Washington is coming off his first-ever 1,000-yard season in his seventh year in the league.  Even though the
team used their first-round pick on Kendall Wright and Britt is the team's No. 1 receiver, Britt faces possible
(likely) league discipline and the knee(s) could slow him down.  Washington will have an opportunity to come
close to last year's numbers, at least for this year.

4 (124).
Dan Yanotchko (Team 1)
Shane Vereen, RB, Patriots
One of the things that Bill Belichick shares in common with Mike Shanahan is their ability to frustrate fantasy
owners when it comes to running backs.  While I think both Vereen and Ridley will have good fantasy games
from time to time, I'd prefer to avoid both of them.

5 (125).
Dan Yanotchko (Team 2)
Andy Dalton, QB, Bengals
The knock on Dalton is his arm strength, but he has intangibles, accuracy and A.J. Green.  While I wouldn't
want to count on Dalton as a fantasy starter, he is a reliable and safe backup even if he doesn't offer a ton of
upside.  The Bengals also added some weapons (
via the draft): Mohammed Sanu, Dwight Jones and Orson
Charles.

6 (126).
Brendan Donahue (Team 2)
Michael Floyd, WR, Cardinals
In Floyd, the Cardinals have added a legitimate weapon opposite Larry Fitzgerald with great size and good
athleticism.  The team's quarterback situation isn't ideal and receiver is not the easiest position for a rookie to
make an impact, but Floyd has upside this late.

7 (127).
Kevin Hanson (Team 2)
Kendall Wright, WR, Titans
Like the other first-round rookie receivers, Wright has better value in dynasty leagues than redraft leagues, but
there is some upside with Wright.  He led Baylor in receiving all four years he was there and earlier reports
have indicated that
he was learning the offense quickly.  Especially if Britt is suspended, Wright will get an
opportunity to contribute early.

8 (128).
Sean Beazley (Team 2)
Josh Freeman, QB, Buccaneers
Freeman had a year he'd like to forget last season.  Although he set a career high in passing yards (3,592),
his touchdown-to-interception deteriorated to 16:22 last year from a phenomenal 25:6 in his sophomore
campaign.  While I expect a bounce-back season (although not to his 2010 numbers in Greg Schiano's run-
heavy offense), Freeman rushed for a career-high four touchdowns last year.

9 (129).
Sean Beazley (Team 3)
Rashad Jennings, RB, Jaguars
The longer MJD holds out, the more I like Jennings.  Jennings was one of those backs that I liked a lot last
year before an injury ended his season before it started.  Jennings has averaged 5.4 yards per carry in his
two seasons and is a good receiver out of the backfield.  Even if Jones-Drew ends his holdout before the start
of the season, Jennings should still get plenty of work to make him a valuable late-round pick.

10 (130).
Brendan Donahue (Team 3)
Kendall Hunter, RB, 49ers
49ers running backs coach Tom Rathman sums up why I dislike all of the 49ers' running backs in fantasy
this year with this statement (
via the Sacramento Bee): "I don't know if everyone's going to be happy with the
time that they get."  It's a crowded backfield with Gore, Hunter, Anthony Dixon and newcomers Brandon
Jacobs and LaMichael James.

11 (131).
Kevin Hanson (Team 3)
Santana Moss, TE, Redskins
Reports of Moss' demise have been greatly exaggerated.  He's one of the receivers that I seem to like much
more than others as he is in great shape (shed 16 pounds this offseason) and looks quicker, according to
reports.  In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Moss has more fantasy points than any other Redskins receiver this
season.

12 (132).
Dan Yanotchko (Team 3)
Owen Daniels, TE, Texans
Even though he had his only 100-yard game in Week 14, Daniels was more productive before Matt Schaub
was injured (Week 10).  He had five of his six games of 60-plus yards with Schaub as the quarterback.  With
Schaub healthy again and not many pass-catching weapons other than Andre Johnson in the Texans'
offense, Daniels has the potential to be a low-end TE1.
