2012 Fantasy Football Mock Draft: EDSFootball.com Contributors, 1.0
Scoring: This mock draft is based on leagues that use standard scoring -- i.e., not point-per-reception (PPR) scoring. Passing touchdowns are worth four points while rushing and receiving touchdowns are worth six points. In addition, one point is earned per 25 passing yards, 10 rushing yards and 10 receiving yards.
With our first 2012 Fantasy Football Mock Draft under way (pre-Super Bowl XLVI), six EDSFootball.com contributors represented two teams each in our 12-team standard-scoring mock draft. Picks for both teams managed by Dan Yanotchko (follow on Twitter) will be updated below with commentary after every few rounds.
Mock draft start date: January 29, 2012 Mock draft end date: TBD
Your best pick so far? The best pick so far with this team, well, besides getting the best fantasy football running back in Ray Rice would be Wes Welker of the Patriots. Here I am in round 3 getting the guy who was second in the league in yards receiving with 1,569 yards, second only to Megatron. Welker led the league in targets, receptions and had nine touchdowns as well.
Your best pick so far? So far, the best pick for this team would have to be getting Roddy White in the 3rd round. I mean, c'mon, I get a 1,300-yard guy who has been in the top ten of receivers in fantasy points in the last three years!
Hindsight is 20-20, but which pick would you do over? I am not too sure about this one, because I am usually a late TE grabber, but I may want to rethink getting Antonio Gates so early as I usually don't follow the run crown and grab a TE because everyone else is.
Hindsight is 20-20, but which pick would you do over? The question is, did I reach for Fred Jackson a little too early in the second round? I would have to say no, if you listened to our previous podcasts I have always loved Fred Jackson, and was able to steal him in the 6th or later rounds of most drafts last year. This year he played 10 games had almost 1,500 yards total and 6 touchdowns, and was leading the league when he went down with injury.
Overall thoughts about how your teams are shaping up? For having the number one pick overall, I am liking this team a lot, as I have the best running back, the top targeted and one of the most consistent wideouts, possibly the best tight end in the league this year, and a QB Matt Stafford that plays in a pass first offense and had 5,000 yards last year. What could be better?
Overall thoughts about how your teams are shaping up? This team is shaping up very very well I have the league leader in rushing with Maurice Jones-Drew, the dynamic Fred Jackson as RB1 and RB2. I have two awesome WRs in Dwayne Bowe and Roddy White, and just wait till you see who I get in later rounds. ...

(2012 Fantasy Football Rankings coming this week.)
Based on results from FantasyPros.com, Kevin Hanson ranked third overall in accuracy in 2011. Here's what FantasyPros wrote (about Hanson) in their year-end announcement of accuracy results:
"... Hanson was a fixture in the top 5 throughout the season and even led the contest heading into the final week. He also owns the distinction as being the only expert to eclipse the 70% PAY™ mark for a single position. ... Simply put, if you needed QB advice in 2011, the ultimate source to go to was over at EDSFootball. That’s not to say that Hanson was a one-trick pony, however. He also earned a top 10 rating at both WR (# 3) & RB (# 8), demonstrating that he’s among the best of the best when it comes to fantasy prognostication."
