2012 Fantasy Football Mock Draft: EDSFootball.com Contributors, 1.0

Scoring: This mock draft is based on leagues that use standard scoring -- i.e., not point-per-reception (PPR) scoring.
Passing touchdowns are worth four points while rushing and receiving touchdowns are worth six points.  In addition,
one point is earned per 25 passing yards, 10 rushing yards and 10 receiving yards.

With our first 2012 Fantasy Football Mock Draft under way (pre-Super Bowl XLVI), six EDSFootball.com contributors
represented two teams each in our 12-team standard-scoring mock draft.  Picks for both teams managed by Brendan
Donahue (follow on Twitter) will be updated below with commentary after every few rounds.

Mock draft start date: January 29, 2012
Mock draft end date: TBD

More contributors: Kevin Hanson - Dan Yanotchko - Sean Beazley - Steve Woodhull - John Trifone

Teams Drafted by Brendan Donahue
TEAM I
  TEAM II
1 (12). Andre Johnson, WR, Houston Texans
1 (9). Chris Johnson, RB, Tennessee Titans
2 (13). Ryan Mathews, RB, San Diego Chargers
2 (16). Cam Newton, QB, Carolina Panthers
3 (36). Victor Cruz, WR, New York Giants
3 (33). Greg Jennings, WR, Green Bay Packers
4 (37). Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota Vikings
4 (40). Miles Austin, WR, Dallas Cowboys

Your best pick so far? If he doesn't miss any games next year, I believe my best pick was getting Adrian Peterson in
the fourth round of the draft.  I think this is a spot where there aren't many valuable running backs left and to get a
potential top five running back here is worth the risk.  I may target Gerhart later just for protection.

Hindsight is 20-20, but which pick would you do over? The pick I may do over is Chris Johnson.  I usually like to go
with a sure thing in the first round, but based on his production this past season he is far from a sure thing heading into
2012.  I do believe he will have a bounce-back year, however, but maybe I should have gone with Ryan Matthews
instead.

Overall thoughts about how your teams are shaping up?  Both of my teams are shaping up nicely where I have a
combination of proven veteran talent along with young players that still haven't reached their ceiling yet and could have
even bigger years than projected.  I will look to fill out the rest of the roster with the best available player in the upcoming
rounds.

5 (60). Steve Smith, WR, Carolina Panthers
5 (57). Roy Helu, RB, Washington Redskins
6 (61). Michael Bush, RB, Oakland Raiders
6 (64). DeSean Jackson, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
7 (84). Tony Gonzalez, TE, Atlanta Falcons
7 (81). Demaryius Thomas, WR, Denver Broncos
8 (85). Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina Panthers
8 (88). Mikel LeShoure, RB, Detroit Lions

Which one of your two teams do you like the best?  Through the first 8 rounds, I like team Brendan I better (even
though I still don't have a QB).  I think this team is balanced with established superstars and budding superstars.  I
have great depth at running back and could have absolute steals in both Adrian Peterson (if healthy) and Michael Bush
(if McFadden is traded or still hobbled).  I still believe I can add a quality QB later in the draft to round out my team and
make it in my opinion one of if not the best in the league.

Aside from your teams, which team has had the best draft so far?  The other team I like through 8 rounds is Kevin II.
He is taking a chance on some injury prone players but has done a nice job to mitigate the risk by drafting quality
backups in those spots partcularly with CJ Spiller who I think can be a very productive fantasy player in 2012.  He may
have the biggest boom/bust player in the league with Vick but he was taken 1st overall in some drafts last year so I think
he got nice value with him this year and could pay off huge.

9 (108). Carson Palmer, QB, Oakland Raiders
9 (105). Isaac Redman, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
10 (109). Tim Tebow, QB, Denver Broncos
10 (112). Matt Flynn, QB, Green Bay Packers

FANTASY FOOTBALL RANKINGS:
- Standard Scoring: QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs

Based on results from FantasyPros.com, Kevin Hanson ranked third overall in accuracy in 2011. Here's what FantasyPros wrote (about Hanson) in their year-end announcement of accuracy results:

"... Hanson was a fixture in the top 5 throughout the season and even led the contest heading into the final week. He also owns the distinction as being the only expert to eclipse the 70% PAY™ mark for a single position. ... Simply put, if you needed QB advice in 2011, the ultimate source to go to was over at EDSFootball. That’s not to say that Hanson was a one-trick pony, however. He also earned a top 10 rating at both WR (# 3) & RB (# 8), demonstrating that he’s among the best of the best when it comes to fantasy prognostication."
