Quinyon Mitchell — NFL Mock Draft Roundup 1.0

Leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft, we will track where Toledo Rockets cornerback Quinyon Mitchell appears in the latest NFL mock drafts.

Quinyon Mitchell NFL Mock Drafts

Here are some of the latest mock drafts in which Arnold has appeared:

CBS Sports - Kyle Stackpole

#14 overall (TRADE), Philadelphia Eagles

Big move from the Eagles! GM Howie Roseman has traded up in Round 1 for three straight drafts and four of the past five, and he does so again here. Knowing the team's starting cornerbacks are aging and that Quinyon Mitchell is potentially the No. 1 CB in this class, Roseman gets aggressive in helping the Philadelphia defense.

NFL.com - Eric Edholm

#15 overall, Indianapolis Colts

The Colts could use another corner, and Mitchell's traits should prevent him from escaping the top 20. JuJu Brents likely will lock up one outside CB job, and Kenny Moore II will continue to man the nickel after re-signing on a three-year, $30 million deal. But Indianapolis still needs more help at the position in a division loaded with young QB talent.

The Ringer - Danny Kelly

#11 overall (TRADE), New England Patriots

TRADE: The Vikings send the no. 11 pick, the no. 23 pick, the no. 108 pick, and a 2025 first-rounder to the Patriots for the no. 3 pick.

The Pats skip out on the quarterback carousel in this draft and instead look to bolster the secondary, grabbing an all-around playmaking talent in Mitchell. The former Toledo star has good size, elite athleticism, and excellent ball skills—many of the same traits as the team's other potential shutdown corner, Christian Gonzalez. Together, that duo could develop into one of the top cornerback tandems in the league, giving the Patriots the ability to stifle opposing receivers and help get New England back into contention.

NFL.com - Charles Davis

#12 overall, Denver Broncos

Instead of reaching for a quarterback here, the Broncos add Mitchell, who should make a great running mate opposite Pro Bowl CB Pat Surtain II.

CBS Sports - Pete Prisco

#11 overall (TRADE), Arizona Cardinals

They signed Sean Murphy-Bunting in free agency, but you can never have enough corners. They also could look to add a receiver here, maybe Brian Thomas Jr. from LSU.

ESPN - Matt Miller

#17 overall, Jacksonville Jaguars

With four WRs gone and the full cornerback class available, I think general manager Trent Baalke targets the latter position here. He loves players with elite traits (such as Travon Walker), and Mitchell fits the bill there. The 6-foot, 195-pound senior ran a 4.33-second 40-yard dash at the combine and benched 225 pounds 20 times. He's fast and physical, and he wins at the line of scrimmage. And his stats speak to his ball-hawking abilities; he broke up 32 passes and picked off six over the past two seasons. Pairing Mitchell with Tyson Campbell -- another corner with great traits -- forms a really good duo.

ESPN - Mike Tannenbaum

#11 overall (TRADE), Arizona Cardinals

Mitchell had an outstanding combine, running a 4.33 in the 40, jumping 38 inches in the vert and posting a 10-foot-2 broad jump. I was also impressed with his Senior Bowl practice week. Mitchell has standout man-to-man skills and the ideal 6-1 size to play outside corner. His ball production is elite, with 39 pass breakups and six interceptions over his time in college. Arizona signed Sean Murphy-Bunting, but this team struggled on defense (specifically against the pass) last season and needs more. The Cards gave up a staggering 7.6 yards per pass attempt (27th). Pairing Mitchell with Murphy-Bunting would make for a much-needed upgrade to the Cardinals' secondary.

The Athletic - Ben Standig

#12 overall (TRADE), Green Bay Packers

Projected trade: Packers acquire No. 12 from Broncos for Nos. 25, 58, 91 and 245)

Another team with 11 draft selections, the Packers move up 13 spots for arguably the best defender in the class. Mitchell dominated the pre-draft cycle after blasting off last season with the Rockets. This addition and free-agent safety Xavier McKinney bolsters a secondary that will face Justin Jefferson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Allen and Moore twice a season.
