2022 NFL Power Rankings: Los Angeles Rams

Throughout the 2022 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Below you will find a Week 5 roundup for the Los Angeles Rams in our consensus 2022 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 6

The biggest issue on defense is ... injuries to the secondary.

The Rams have their best cornerback healthy (Jalen Ramsey) but have been dealing with several injuries in the secondary early in the season. The Rams were without cornerbacks Troy Hill (IR), David Long Jr. and Cobie Durant on Monday night against the 49ers, although they did get safety Jordan Fuller back. Los Angeles' defense, which ranked second in Football Outsiders' rush DVOA going into the Week 4 matchup, ranks significantly worse against the pass (23rd in the NFL). The Rams do have four interceptions this season.

NFL.com -- Rank: 11

It's officially time to start worrying about the Rams. Facing a stout Niners defense in a loud road environment, the Matthew Stafford-led Los Angeles attack looked flat and punchless in a 24-9 loss that promises to be an impossible film watch for Sean McVay and friends. Stafford was sacked seven times, threw a game-ending pick-six and generally looks like a quarterback who doesn't have a lick of trust in anyone other than Cooper Kupp. In related news, the much-hyped addition of presumptive No. 2 receiver Allen Robinson (two catches, 7 yards on Monday) is fast approaching boondoggle territory. How's that knee feeling, Odell?

CBS Sports -- Rank: 10

They just don't look good right now. Matt Stafford isn't playing well behind a bad offensive line and they lack playmakers not named Cooper Kupp.

USA Today -- Rank: 12

Their lack of depth, inability to run the ball or get anything out of WR2 Allen Robinson are real concerns. Otherwise, the defending champs have looked great.

The Athletic -- Rank: 9

What they are: Trying to wake up.

The Rams have had the misfortune of playing against two of the league's best defenses in the first four weeks, which isn't ideal for a team attempting to play its way into contender shape as the season goes on. The Rams offense ranks all the way down at 28th in EPA per drive and is split between 25th in EPA per dropback and 20th in EPA per rush. But there's something working underneath the surface — they rank sixth in offensive success rate, per TruMedia. Ill-timed mistakes are hurting them while the defense has been middling (No. 19 in defensive EPA per drive). Lot of ball left, though.

The Ringer -- Rank: 11

Without Andrew Whitworth, Odell Beckham Jr., and Von Miller, the Rams just don't have enough star power to beat good football teams right now. The Rams now have two ugly losses, first to the Bills and now the 49ers—two top-10 teams on this list. Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp have to do everything for the offense to move the ball, and Aaron Donald is the only player creating consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Los Angeles ranks 31st in quarterback pressure rate, according to TruMedia, and the offense is tied for 25th in EPA per play (-.08).

Yahoo! -- Rank: 10

Cooper Kupp is an amazing player. The Rams need their offense to be more than Kupp. Allen Robinson being a ghost through four games is killing their offense.

PFT -- Rank: 13

Matthew Stafford probably has six or seven injuries that he's keeping to himself.
