With two weeks to go, the NFC East could come down to the Week 17 matchup between the Cowboys and Redskins to decide the division.
Both of those teams along with the Giants, the defending Super Bowl champs, are tied at 8-6.
In our power rankings last week, I made a "bold prediction" that the Giants would lose out to the Falcons, Ravens and Eagles. With their embarrassing 34-0 loss to the Falcons, the prediction seems a little less bold.
They will have to play a Ravens team that is tough to beat at home and on a three-game losing streak before facing the Eagles in what will likely be Andy Reid's final game with the franchise.
Here is this week's roundtable question: Will Adrian Peterson break Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record of 2,105 yards
Kevin (follow Kevin on Twitter):
All fantasy owners that have "gambled" on Peterson have reaped huge rewards for their "bet."
Not only has he already set a career high with 1,812 yards, but he currently leads the league in rushing by a gap of almost 500 yards (433). In his past half-season (eight games), he has 1,313 rushing yards and has gained more than 100 yards each week. In fact, his 1,313 yards in eight games would have ranked him fourth in rushing all of last year.
Although breaking the record is certainly not a given, I wouldn't bet against Peterson.

Adrian Peterson is going to break Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record.
He has been on an incredible tear of late, and amassed another 200-yard rushing game this past week. What he has done all season has defied the odds, and I'm not betting against him getting the record.
He has been Minnesota's best weapon all year, and will continue to get a heavy workload in the final two games of the year.
Dan (follow Dan on Twitter):
Adrian Peterson will indeed break Eric Dickerson's record of 2,105 yards this year, as he only needs to average 146.5 yards in each of his last two games. Peterson has been on a monster tear as of late. Since October 21st, he has only only two games with less than 150 rushing yards.
The Texans have struggled against the run as of late, as they have given up back-to-back weeks with 100-yard rushers, and All Day recently put up 210 yards on the Packers already this year. I certainly feel that All Day will have the new record, and it will be considered a miracle as last year at this time he was in a hospital bed.
Sean (follow Sean on Twitter):
I think Peterson falls just short.br>
The Vikings are in the playoff hunt and they play two teams with explosive offenses in Houston and Green Bay. I think if they were out of playoff contention, they would make it a point to get AP the record.
They will have to abandon the run a bit to play catch up in both of these games. AP finishes with 2080 yards.
Here are some stats on this week's consensus rankings:
- Biggest jump from last update: Carolina Panthers (4.75)
- Biggest drop from last update: New York Giants and New York Jets (4.25)
- Team with widest difference between high and low rank: Cleveland Browns (9)

All of our rankings are from owner Kevin Hanson, who finished third overall in accuracy by FantasyPros in 2011.
Here's what FantasyPros wrote (about Hanson) in their year-end announcement of accuracy results:
"... Hanson was a fixture in the top 5 throughout the season and even led the contest heading into the final week. He also owns the distinction as being the only expert to eclipse the 70% PAY™ mark for a single position. ... Simply put, if you needed QB advice in 2011, the ultimate source to go to was over at EDSFootball. That’s not to say that Hanson was a one-trick pony, however. He also earned a top 10 rating at both WR (# 3) & RB (# 8), demonstrating that he’s among the best of the best when it comes to fantasy prognostication."
