Los Angeles Chargers Mock Draft Roundup 1.0

Throughout the year and leading up to the 2021 NFL draft, we will update our Los Angeles Chargers Mock Draft Roundup showing picks for the Los Angeles Chargers from several prominent sites and draft analysts.

The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Chargers:

Pro Football Network - DiCecco (6/7)
10) Los Angeles Chargers: Jaylen Waddle, WR Alabama

Outside of Austin Ekeler, the Chargers' offense doesn't offer much in terms of explosiveness. Here, the Chargers add perhaps the draft's fastest player in Waddle, who should thrive playing with strong-armed Justin Herbert.

Fox Sports - McIntyre (6/7)
21. Los Angeles Chargers -- Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama

The Chargers have to pay a lot of guys in the coming years, including Keenan Allen. He's (mostly) shed the injury label, but Waddle is insurance.

Walter Football (5/19)
13. Los Angeles Chargers: Sam Cosmi, OT, Texas

The Chargers did a good job of upgrading their offensive line this offseason by adding Trai Turner and Bryan Bulaga. They still need a left tackle to replace Russell Okung.

Sam Cosmi is very athletic, but is considered raw at the moment.

CBS Sports - Edwards (5/12)
13. Los Angeles Chargers: Walker Little, OL, Stanford

Bryan Bulaga had primarily played on the right side in Green Bay. Los Angeles brought him in to play left tackle, but it would make more sense to find a long-term replacement there. Little is an athletic player with great size.

CBS Sports - Trapasso (5/4)
19. Los Angeles Chargers: Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida

Pitts and Pat Freiermuth from Penn State will likely battle for TE1 status in next year's draft class. Both fit the mold of the modern-day tight end/receiver hybrid and have big frames.

PFF - Renner (4/30)
12. Los Angeles Chargers -- OT Alex Leatherwood, Alabama

Leatherwood would have been among the top tackles in last year's class had he declared, but he chose to return to Alabama. The way we saw certain tackles get pushed down, that could be the right decision with a big senior year. Leatherwood actually outperformed Jedrick Wills Jr. in pass protection last year with an 80.0 pass-blocking grade at only 10 pressures allowed all season.

San Diego Union Tribune (4/29)
14. L.A. Chargers (40/1) -- Samuel Cosmi, OT, Texas

Cosmi has dominated in 26 games at right tackle. As a redshirt junior, he'll slide to the left side and make his case for the best tackle in this draft class.

SI - Hanson (4/27)
12. Los Angeles Chargers: Samuel Cosmi, OT, Texas

While the Chargers signed Bryan Bulaga to a three-year contract, they traded away Russell Okung to the Panthers for guard Trai Turner and remain in need of an upgrade opposite Bulaga. While he decided to return to Austin for another season, Cosmi has experience at both right tackle (2018) and left tackle ('19) and is one of the best pass-blocking prospects eligible for the 2021 draft.

Bleacher Report - Miller (4/27)
20. Los Angeles Chargers -- OT Walker Little, Stanford

It would be unlike general manager Tom Telesco to draft an offensive tackle in the first round, but the team has a major need at the position and is unlikely to find one in free agency or via trade who has the potential of Stanford's Walker Little.

After missing the remainder of the 2019 season with a knee injury suffered in the opener, Little almost declared for the 2020 draft but instead opted to go back to Stanford to improve his stock. That will be easy to do if he returns to his pre-injury form. Heading into the '19 campaign, he was one of the best tackles in the country and had an early Round 1 grade.

SB Nation - Kadar (4/27)
13. Los Angeles Chargers: Alex Leatherwood, OT, Alabama

The Chargers didn't take an offensive lineman in the draft, and could be in need of one at this time next year. Leatherwood has played guard and tackle for Alabama, and done both well.

The Athletic - Brugler (4/27)
12. Los Angeles Chargers -- *Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama

With Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs now in the NFL, Waddle should see added targets and snaps as a junior with a chance to be an All-American candidate. He is one of the fastest and most elusive players in the nation with the ball in his hands.
