Fantasy Football Mock Draft Per Day (June 11th): 12 teams, No. 2 pick, Standard Scoring

Back on May 27th, we began our 2014 fantasy football mock draft per day series using our site's mock draft simulator (powered by FantasyPros).

As we continue through the offseason, I will continue to complete a mock draft every day as I vary the scoring format, league size, draft slot, etc. and today's mock is a 12-team league with standard scoring and I have the No. 2 pick.

Here are my picks in today's mock draft:

1.02 - Jamaal Charles, RB, Kansas City Chiefs: With the second overall pick, it's a no-lose situation as I'd be happy with either Charles or LeSean McCoy. With McCoy going first overall, however, I get my No. 1 overall player at No. 2.

2.11 - Alshon Jeffery, WR, Chicago Bears: Jeffery broke out in his sophomore season with a team-high 1,421 receiving yards and he set the franchise's single-game receiving yardage record as well. In fact, he had a pair of 200-yard games last year.

3.02 - Andre Ellington, RB, Arizona Cardinals: Based on comments from Bruce Arians, Ellington should see a big jump in workload in 2014. He's going to get 65 touches per game, or something like that. :)

4.11 - Toby Gerhart, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars: Gerhart will go from being a little-used option behind Adrian Peterson to being a workhorse back for the Jaguars.

5.02 - Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Minnesota Vikings: Patterson could be in store for a breakout campaign in Norv Turner's offense in Year 2. (In an ideal world, Roddy White would be my WR2 target, but he was selected at 4.08.)

6.11 - Marques Colston, WR, New Orleans Saints: While Colston doesn't have the ceiling that Patterson does, he does have a higher floor. After getting off to a slow(ish) start, Colston averaged 6.0/75.1/0.5 over the final eight games of the season.

7.02 - Jason Witten, TE, Dallas Cowboys: Extremely durable, Witten had an off year (73/851/8) by his standards after four 1,000-yard seasons over six years. While Witten's best years may be behind him, I see more catches and yards for him this year as the Cowboys offense tries to keep up with they offense facing their pathetic defense.

8.11 - Colin Kaepernick, QB, San Francisco 49ers: One of the league's top dual-threat quarterbacks, Kaepernick will have a much better receiving corps going into the 2014 season. I really like his upside this season.

9.02 - Lamar Miller, RB, Miami Dolphins: Speaking of upside, Miller had a disappointing season last year but he could flourish in new OC Bill Lazor's up-tempo offense, especially as Knowshon Moreno works himself back into shape.

10.11 - Cecil Shorts, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jags drafted a pair of rookie receivers in Round 2, but Shorts should lead the team in receiving across the board and is a solid WR4.

11.02 - Hakeem Nicks, WR, Indianapolis Colts: In 2010 and 2011, Nicks was ninth in receiving yards (2,244) and tied for fifth in receiving touchdowns (18) over those two years combined. While it's possible we see more numbers like 2012 or 2013 from Nicks, he should be highly motivated for his next free-agent deal after settling for a one-year deal with the Colts.

12.11 - Brandin Cooks, WR, New Orleans Saints: With the Saints trading up for the dynamic Cooks, it's certain that Coach Payton & Co. will find a better way to utilize the explosive receiver than the Rams did last season with Tavon Austin.

13.02 - Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina Panthers: I could do worse than taking a flier on The Daily Show in the 13th round as my RB5.

14.11 - Baltimore Ravens D/ST: As usual, it's my top-ranked defense with the second-to-last pick.

15.02 - Phil Dawson, K, San Francisco 49ers: And my top-ranked kicker with my final pick.
