Rankings", our index is based on statistical performance only in an attempt to remove any biases that enter into other
sources' Power Rankings.
The statistical categories include won-loss record, scoring margin, offensive yards per game (ypg) - defensive ypg,
offensive rushing ypg - defensive rushing ypg, offensive passing ypg - defensive passing ypg, turnover differential, total
scoring margins in losses and strength of schedule.
** Scoring range is 256 (best) to 8 (worst) except in week 1 when strength of schedule is not included. In week 1, the
best score possible is 224 and the worst score possible is 7.
Note: scoring in 2007 was reversed; the lower the score, the more dominant the team.
