Gore to miss three weeks (two games)

The San Francisco 49ers will be without running back Frank Gore for the next two games with a right ankle sprain and right foot sprain, per Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.

Gore, who had 216 yards in week 2, left yesterday's game after carrying the ball only one time for four yards.

While Gore is out, rookie Glen Coffee will get the start. Coffee had 25 carries for 54 yards against the Vikings yesterday.

San Francisco's next two games are against the Rams and the Falcons. Then they have a bye in week 6.

Both the Rams and Falcons rank in the bottom 10 in the NFL in rushing defense allowing 148 and 136 rushing yards per game, respectively.

Per Barrows, the 49ers may move Kory Sheets from the practice squad to the active roster.
