Percy Harvin agrees to five-year contract
The Minnesota Vikings have signed first-rounder Percy Harvin to a five-year contract, according to the Associated Press.
Although Harvin missed two days (four practices), he was working out with Tim Tebow, his former college quarterback.
"He's probably the best thing other than a pro quarterback," Harvin said Sunday. "Of course he's not a pro quarterback, but I got the best work in I could do without actually being here."
Despite having some pre-draft character concerns, Harvin is an electrifying playmaker. And the Vikings plan on exploiting his versatility.
"Return man. Slot. A little bit in the backfield," Harvin said. "The motions. The screens. I'm looking to be all over."
In his three seasons at the University of Florida, Harvin had nearly as many rushing yards (1852) as he had receiving yards (1929) and he scored a combined 32 touchdowns in 36 career games.
