Jammal Brown has surgery, out for rest of pre-season
Saints left tackle Jammal Brown had surgery performed by Dr. William Myers, a sports hernia specialist in Philadelphia, according to Brian Allee-Walsh of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Per Allee-Walsh, Brown will definitely miss the remainder of the pre-season although the Saints are hopeful that Brown will be able to return for the regular-season opener against the Detroit Lions on September 13th.
However, Jim Mashek of the Sun Herald wrote that Brown could miss up to a month of the regular season if surgery was necessary.
Brown, the Saints' first-round pick in 2005, has earned trips to the Pro Bowl in 2006 and 2008.
