Steelers sign Evander "Ziggy" Hood
The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed Evander "Ziggy" Hood to a five-year deal, according to Mike Prisuta of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
The Steelers selected Evander "Ziggy" Hood with the 32nd overall pick in this year's draft.
Hood, a 6'3" and 300-pound defensive tackle from Missouri, will primarily play as a 3-4 defensive end in a back-up role for the Steelers this year.
At the NFL Combine, Hood benched 225 pounds for 34 reps and ran a 4.97 forty.
Pittsburgh opens training camp this Friday and all of their rookies are already signed. The last time a rookie missed training camp was Ben Roethlisberger in 2004 when he missed four days.
