Browns sign David Veikune
The Cleveland Browns opened training camp for rookies yesterday with three of their second-round picks unsigned.
Per Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns signed David Veikune, who played defensive end at Hawaii, to a four-year contract worth $3.5 million. The deal includes nearly $1.8 million in guaranteed money.
Veikune is expected to convert to a 3-4 outside linebacker in the Browns' scheme.
The Browns still need to sign a pair of second-round receivers - Brian Robiskie and Mohamed Massaquoi. According to Grossi, however, negotiations haven't even begun with Robiskie.
