Next Agent...
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin has fired his agent Drew Rosenhaus, according to Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic.
There is a five-day waiting period after a player files the papers to dismiss an agent, which Boldin did on Friday, before a player can hire new representation.
Boldin has been unhappy with his four-year contract since he signed it. Or, at least, that is how it seems.
After the 2008 season, which was his first in that contract, Boldin was adamant about not wanting to negotiate with the Cardinals. In fact, he said Rosenhaus had "orders not to negotiate."
However, his stance softened towards the end of the season.
As Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner points out, Boldin is a guy who "does everything right. He busts his butt, he's here every day, he's a great leader for us, and he just wants to be compensated fairly..."
"You have to make the right decision for you and your future and I think 'Q' made a great decision," said Cardinals linebacker Karlos Dansby, who also recently changed agents in hopes of striking a new deal with the team. "He was being (attacked) in the media because of the decisions he was making through his representation. For him to change his representation like that is big, man. That says a lot about him."
Despite being unhappy about his contract situation, Boldin was a consummate professional and produced on the field. In fact, he only missed two games after getting his face broken in the Jets' game.
Boldin, the Cardinals' second-round pick in 2003, caught 89 balls for 1038 and 11 touchdowns in only 12 games.
