Marvin Harrison wants to play in 2009
Free agent wide receiver Marvin Harrison doesn't intend to retire per Steve Wyche of NFL.com. However, sometimes it's not the player that makes that decision as Harrison is still a free agent.
Harrison ranks second all-time behind Jerry Rice in receptions (1102) and fourth all-time in receiving yards (14,580).
Although he was released because he wasn't willing to renegotiate the final year of his contract, I believe the best situation for Harrison would be to re-sign with the Colts.
“I played in 15 games last year and a playoff game, and I intend to play again this season,” [agent Tom] Condon said Harrison told him in a conversation Thursday afternoon.Although Harrison played a full season last year, 2008 was his least productive season (60 receptions, 636 yards and five touchdowns) aside from his injury-shortened 2007 season. A knee injury limited Harrison to five games in 2007, however, Condon claims that the knee is not an issue.
