Lions and Foote agree to one-year deal
When the Pittsburgh Steelers released linebacker Larry Foote, it was believed that he would end up in Detroit.
Per Nicholas Cotsonika of the Detroit Free Press, Foote is on the verge of returning to his hometown of Detroit to play for the Lions this season.
Foote started all 16 games last season for the Steelers. However, Lawrence Timmons, the Steelers' first-round pick in 2007, is ready to start and Foote saw the writing on the wall.

"I'm excited because it's a fresh start for me," Foote said Tuesday night in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "It's a one-year deal to show my talents, and hopefully end up signing a long-term deal after showing the Lions and their new coaching staff what I can do."The Lions have also added five-time Pro Bowl linebacker Julian Peterson as well.
