Jack Kemp passed away Saturday
Former NFL QB and politician Jack Kemp passed away last night after battling cancer. Kemp was diagnosed with the disease in January.
Kemp was a congressman, housing secretary and the 1996 vice presidential running mate of Bob Dole in 1996.
A 17th-round draft pick by the Detroit Lions in 1957, Kemp was claimed off waivers by the Buffalo Bills in 1962 for $100 after the San Diego Chargers released him. He is one of the 19 members on the Buffalo Bills Wall of Fame.
Kemp led the Bills to back-to-back AFL Championships in 1964 and 1965. He also won the AFL Player of the Year award in 1965.
