GM Angelo non-committal about adding veteran WR
Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo was non-committal about adding a veteran receiver when speaking to Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune before the Bears Care Gala at Soldier Field.
However, he said that the team has "not talked about" free-agent receiver Amani Toomer.
When asked about the possibility of pursuing Boldin, whom his agent Drew Rosenhaus still believes will be dealt prior to training camp, Angelo was non-committal.

"A veteran receiver is something we could do. We've looked at just about everybody. But right now we're in a holding pattern. If we go to camp and go into the season with the hand we dealt ourselves, we're very comfortable with that as well."Before the draft, the Bears offered the Cardinals their second-round pick for Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin according to McClure.

"I'm not going to say 'No' to anything," he said. "Things have changed now from when we were exploring that before. But [Rosenhaus] also made the statement that someone was going to give the Cardinals a first-round pick. That's part of the salesmanship for his client. If the Cardinals still insist on a first-round pick as part of the deal, the Bears don't have one until 2011. They traded their first-rounders in 2009 and 2010 to get QB Jay Cutler from Denver.
"I don't know what Arizona is going to do. [Boldin] is under contract. We really can't talk about that. Just leave it at that."
