Favre to have surgery to repair tendon
Brett Favre will meet Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham tomorrow to discuss surgery to repair his partially torn bicep tendon, according to Charley Walters of the Pioneer Press.
Favre, who is expected to have the surgery later this week, would need six to eight weeks of rehab. Although the surgery is considered routine, Favre will turn 40 years old this season.
If the surgery doesn't fix the pain, it's uncertain whether Favre would be willing to opt for more complex procedures. However, reports have indicated that he would come back if only minor surgery was needed.
For me, I could really care less whether or not Favre plays in 2009. I just don't want the "will-he-or-won't-he" drama to persist all summer long.
Bus Cook, Favre's agent, has said that there is "absolutely no substance" to all the rumors. However, the minor procedure pretty much guarantees that Favre "may look up next week and say, 'I want a job,'" as Cook says.
