Pace wants Bears to go after Holt
Last week, the Chicago Bears signed tackle Orlando Pace, who had spent his entire career with the St. Louis Rams. Now the new Bear wants his new team to bring in one of his former Ram teammates.
To illustrate the Bears' glaring weakness at receiver, new Bears QB Jay Cutler called Plaxico Burress, the same one facing the possibility of prison and/or league suspension on gun charges, to gauge his level of interest in joining the Bears.
However, Pace would like help to come from Torry Holt.

"I spoke to Torry," Pace said. "It's funny he just probably at my house a few days before I even came here. I think he's just out searching. I'm probably recruiting him in Chicago here. And hopefully it works out."Bears coach Lovie Smith, who was defensive coordinator for the Rams before joining the Bears, didn't rule out the possibility.
"I do have a relationship with Torry Holt," Smith said. "He's a great player, great guy. He's available right now. Torry's in the (free agency) pool like a lot of other receivers. We evaluate everybody that's available, and Torry's one of them."Holt would help upgrade the Bears' receiving corps. But with or without Holt, the Bears would still have one of the weakest receiving corps in the league.
