Jags and Torry Holt close to a deal?
Free-agent WR Torry Holt is in the final stages of negotiating a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars according to Michael C. Wright of the Florida Times-Union. However, Wright says that a deal is not imminent.
This off-season, the Jaguars released Matt Jones and didn't re-sign Reggie Williams. Both former first-rounders have been busts in the literal sense spending time in jail this off-season.
Holt, who was released by the Rams this off-season, has earned seven trips to the Pro Bowl in his ten-year NFL career, but he's been slowed (literally) by knee issues in recent years. Holt turns 33 in June.
Last year, Holt caught 64 balls for 796 yards and three touchdowns. Before last season, Holt had eight consecutive 1000-yard seasons.
