Hip surgery for Brandon Marshall
Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall had hip surgery yesterday that was performed by Dr. Marc Philippon. Philippon has also performed hip surgery on Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez and Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner.
Per Mike Klis of the Denver Post, Marshall is expected back by training camp, which begins in late-July.
The Broncos are in the process of working on a trade for quarterback Jay Cutler, who finished third in the NFL in passing yards in 2008. Also, Marshall is possibly facing an NFL suspension stemming from a March disorderly conduct arrest even though the charge was dropped.
With the possibility of a suspension looming and the likelihood of a new QB in the Mile High city, Marshall is unlikely to duplicate his performance of the past two seasons where he recorded 100+ receptions for 1200+ yards each year.
As a 25-year-old that has a Wikipedia page with a section chronicling his "Legal Trouble," the odds are fairly high that he'll get arrested again this year.
