Giants targeting Heyward-Bey?

It's much easier to find teams willing to trade down than there are teams who desire to move up in the NFL draft this year.

One of the teams that may be looking to move up is the New York Giants.

Per Ralph Vacchiano of the NY Daily News, Maryland WR Darrius Heyward-Bey, who posted a 4.3 40 time at the NFL scouting combine, is the Giants' target.

Based on the NFL draft-pick value chart, the Giants, who have the 29th overall pick and 10 total picks in the draft, could move up to 14th if they offer their first-rounder in addition to the picks they were offering the Cleveland Browns for Braylon Edwards. Reports were they offered the Browns the second- and fifth-round picks they had acquired from the Saints for Jeremy Shockey.

The talks between the Browns and Giants regarding Braylon Edwards are reportedly "dead" although Paul Schwartz of the New York Post argues that trade talks were never as serious as reported.

Not only is Heyward-Bey fast, he is a big target (6'2" and 210 pounds) the Giants covet after releasing Plaxico Burress. As a junior, Heyward-Bey had 45 receptions for 694 yards and five TDs last year.
