Ex-Steeler John Banaszak hospitalized
Per the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, John Banaszak, who played DE for the Pittsburgh Steelers and is currently an assistant coach at Robert Morris, was hospitalized after becoming ill while working out.
Banaszak played for the Steelers from 1975 to 1981. He started in two of the three Super Bowls (XIII & XIV) he won as a Steeler.
"It was touch-and-go earlier, but we're hoping for the best," [Robert Morris sports information director Jim] Duzyk said. "Nothing has been ruled out. Knowing coach Banaszak, he'll keep fighting it."Reports that Banaszak suffered aneurysms weren't confirmed, but he is expected to make a full recovery.
