Elway calls it quits
Of course, Hall of Fame QB John Elway retired years ago. 1998 to be exact.
Now, John's son Jack is calling it quits too.
Jack Elway was a redshirt freshman quarterback at Arizona State competing with four other quarterbacks for the starting gig created by the departure of Rudy Carpenter.

"He's just tired of football and wants to do something else with his life," ASU coach Dennis Erickson said Monday. "He made a decision, and we all understand it. He would have played here eventually."Elway, who was all-Colorado at Cherry Creek High School, did not participate at ASU's scrimmage on Saturday.
"You definitely have to know a lot more," Jack told The [Denver] Post at the start of preseason drills. "Mentally, there's a lot more studying, a lot more." Plus, the 6-foot-3, 200-pounder said, "there's a lot bigger people here and you have to get used to the speed of the game. It's different trying to pick it up. But it's coming."I can't imagine the pressure to follow in his legendary father's footsteps. Although Elway is quitting football, he will stay in school.
