Dansby to meet with Cards later in week
According to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, Cardinals general manager Rod Graves is going to meet with LB Karlos Dansby later this week in order to negotiate a long-term contract.
The Cardinals designated Dansby as their franchise player, which means he'll earn $9.7 million in 2009. Dansby was franchised in 2008 as well.
Dansby, who was the Cards' second-round pick in 2004, led the team in tackles (119), had four sacks and two interceptions in 2008.
Reaching a long-term deal with Dansby is (and should be) a priority for the Cardinals. The team and Dansby can negotiate a longer-term deal until July 15th.
