Chike Okeafor will be back with Cardinals
Per Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, the rumors and speculation surrounding the possibility of a release of or pay cut for Cardinals LB Chike Okeafor are just that. Rumors.
Okeafor, who is in the final year of his contract, will earn $4.5 million for the Cardinals in 2009.
Three of the top four Cardinals' OLBs are over 30 years old. Okeafor, who is the starter on the strong side, is 33 and Travis Laboy, who starts on the weak side, is 28. Their back-ups, Clark Haggans and Bertrand Berry, are 32 and 34 years old, respectively.
Somers expects the Cardinals to draft an outside linebacker in one of the first three rounds of this year's draft.
