Baylor's Jason Smith visits with Eagles
Per Chris Steuber of Scout.com, Baylor offensive tackle Jason Smith visited today with the Philadelphia Eagles, who hold the 21st and 28th overall picks in this year's draft.
General manager Tom Heckert expects the Eagles to know who will replace Tra Thomas at left tackle by this year's draft.
Thomas signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a free agent this off-season.
If the Eagles want to draft Smith, who is a consensus top-five pick, they will need to move up in the draft. I expect Smith to go to the St. Louis Rams with the second overall pick in my mock draft.
Not only do the Eagles have two first-rounders, but they have the most picks (12) in this year's draft. The teams at the top of the draft (Detroit, St. Louis and Kansas City) are interested in trading down in the draft.
If the Eagles don't trade up to select a tackle (or trade for Bills disgruntled tackle Jason Peters), they will move either Todd Herremans or Shawn Andrews from guard to tackle
