Samson Satele to Oakland for draft pick
The Miami Dolphins have traded center Samson Steele to the Oakland Raiders for an undisclosed draft pick. Earlier in the month, the Dolphins signed former Raiders center Jake Grove to a five-year contract worth nearly $30 million.
Satele had struggled against some of the bigger nose tackles in the AFC East, such as the Jets' Kris Jenkins and the Patriots' Vince Wilfork. The hope is that Grove, who is an inch taller but roughly the same weight as Satele, will be better able to handle larger nose tackles.
Since being drafted in the second round in 2007, Satele started all 32 games with the Dolphins. The other centers currently on the Raiders' roster are John Wade and Chris Morris.
