Phillip Daniels to re-sign with 'Skins
Last year, the Washington Redskins lost Phillip Daniels on the first day of training camp, which led to the deal that brought Jason Taylor to the 'Skins for draft picks.
Per the Washington Times, Daniels, who was a salary-cap casualty this off-season, is about to re-sign with the team. Under his old deal, Daniels would have earned $2.15 million in 2009. Instead, he will earn the 10-year veteran minimum of $845,000 and will only count $510,000 towards the salary cap.

"We're working something out," he said. "I'll be a Redskin this year."Daniels, who was the Seahawks fourth-round pick in 1996, has 59 career sacks. Before missing the 2008 season, Daniels had 37 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 2007.
"I've been with Coach Blache for 10 years," Daniels said. "I know the system so well. The coaches all told me they wanted me back. I'm so close to so many of the guys. And now Renaldo's back. I don't know who's going to start [at left end]. I don't mind being a backup. I just want to win a championship."
