Osi Umyeniora will be ready for training camp
New York Giants finished sixth in the NFL in sacks (42) last year without DE Osi Umyeniora after leading the league in sacks (53) with him in 2007. Umyeniora had 13 sacks in 2007.
After tearing the lateral meniscus in his left knee last pre-season, Umenyiora says that he is 99 percent and that he will be ready for training camp in July.
He also said that he was between 80-85 percent at the end of last season. He would have considered playing if he hadn't been placed on injured reserve.

"I haven't been in a situation like that my whole life," Umenyiora said. "To see the way it unfolded and the pain and rehabilitation process, how grueling and how hard it was, I think that added an extra motivation (for this season)."In addition to getting Umenyiora back in 2009, the Giants have added Chris Canty and Rocky Bernard to the defensive line in the off-season.
