Joey Galloway signs with the Pats
The New England Patriots signed free-agent WR Joey Galloway, who was released last month by the Bucs, to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal weren't released.
But this move makes a lot of sense for both the Patriots and Galloway. Galloway's agent (Shawn Trell) says that the choice was easy due to the "compelling opportunity to play for a premier owner, organization, team and coach."
With Randy Moss and Wes Welker, Galloway will be the third wide receiver. Despite having only 13 receptions for 138 yards in 9 games in 2008, Galloway had 3 consecutive 1000-yard seasons before last year.

"The ankle injury suffered last year is behind him," Trell said in an email. "The Patriots would not have made this move if they didn't believe the same. The fact is that at the end of last season Joey remained the faster player on the Buccaneers..."With Moss and Galloway stretching the field and Welker in the slot, Brady just might pick up where he left off in 2007. That is, provided he can stay healthy.
