Jets are interested in Jay Cutler
Denver Broncos' coach Josh McDaniels still says that Jay Cutler is "our quarterback."
Per Gary Myers of the Daily News, the Jets have told the Broncos that they are interested in the Broncos' franchise QB (and unhappy camper) if (or, more likely, when) the Broncos start engaging in trade talks.
Jets coach Rex Ryan referred to QBs Kellen Clemens and Brett Ratliff as "1 and 1-A. Clemens may get the first snap, but then 1-A is Ratliff. This is clearly an open competition. Erik Ainge, if he comes around and lights it up, he will be in there."
There will be plenty of possible suitors for Cutler including the Bucs and Bears and possibly the 49ers, Lions among others.
Cutler finished third in the NFL in passing yards (4526) and seventh in passing TDs (25). However, he also finished second in interceptions (18).
The good news is that if Cutler is part of Gang Green in '09, he threw less interceptions than their QB did in '08.
