Giants sign Rocky Bernard
The New York Giants have agreed to terms with DT Rocky Bernard although the terms weren't not immediately available.
Bernard, who was drafted by the Seahawks in the 5th round of the 2002 NFL draft, had the 2nd best year of his career in 2008. He finished with 55 tackles and 4 sacks. In 2005, he had 8.5 sacks.
Free-agent DE Chris Canty is visiting with the Giants and is expected to be in town until Sunday around dinner time. According to Ralph Vacchiano of the Daily News, Canty's asking price is around $8 million per season.

“He’s a veteran defensive tackle with skins on the wall,” GM Jerry Reese said. “He plays hard, he’s stout against the run and he has to be accounted for as a pass rusher. We’re happy to have Rocky on board in our defensive tackle rotation.”He will join Fred Robbins and Barry Cofield in the DT rotation.
