Dolphins release Vonnie Holliday
Today the Miami Dolphins released DE Vonnie Holliday, which will save the Dolphins $3.25 million in salary-cap room.
"We thought we were in a negotiating process,'' Holliday said. "But at the 11th hour it turned out it wasn't necessarily a negotiating process. It was more like they decided to go a different route.Holliday, who's a 12-year veteran, would like to play a couple more years as long as it's for a contender.
"There was a deal on the table and I assume that deal would still be on the table and we would try and negotiate, but there was no negotiation. I'm not bitter at anybody. It's a business. I'm a 12-year guy. I thought my deal was pretty cap-friendly if you will."
"More than anything I want a chance to compete for a ring,'' Holliday said. "I've done very well for myself financially, fortunatelyÂ…I want a chance to give up some of that for a chance to compete.''Holliday had 46 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 2008. Do the 'Fins contact Jason Taylor, who was released by the Redskins today?
