Crabtree won't run, will have surgery Wednesday
Michael Crabtree, who's the consensus top WR in this year's draft, has changed his mind and will not run at his pro day. Instead, he will have surgery on his foot on Wednesday, which will allow him to get healthier sooner.
He was scheduled to run at his pro day on March 26th and the surgery will sideline Crabtree for roughly 10 weeks. At the combine, he said he'd run. Then a few days later, he was "50-50" on running.
In 2 seasons, Crabtree has 231 receptions, 3127 receiving yards and 41 TDs. The production and tapes speak for themselves.

“After thorough consideration and discussion with my advisers and doctors, I decided to have the surgery rather than risk any further injury,” Crabtree said in a statement. “As a competitor, I wanted to run at my pro day, but it became clear that the best thing for me is to have the surgery and be ready to get on the field as soon as possible.”This is the right decision. Perhaps a knock on Crabtree is that many expected his forty time to be in the 4.5-range or higher. But Crabtree has dominated DBs in his 2 years as a collegiate WR winning the Fred Biletnikoff award, which is given to the nation's top receiver, both seasons.
