Arizona Cardinals sign Bryant McFadden
The Arizona Cardinals have signed their second defensive free agent of the off-season. After signing Keith Lewis, who was waived by the San Francisco 49ers last month, the Cards have added free-agent CB Bryant McFadden from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
McFadden, the Steelers' 2nd-round draft pick in 2005, signed a 2-year, $10 million contract despite being dubbed an "$8 million a year player" by his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.
As Deshea Townsend's replacement in the starting lineup, McFadden had 41 tackles and 2 interceptions in 10 games. A broken arm kept him out of the other 6 games.
Steelers' defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau has indicated that William Gay, who had 41 tackles and 1 interception, will likely start in McFadden's place.
Both the Steelers and Cardinals have lost two defensive free agents this off-season. The Steelers have lost McFadden and safety Anthony Smith, who signed with the Packers. The Cardinals have lost Antonio Smith to Houston and Matt Stewart to Dallas.

"I think we've got a good, quality player there," LeBeau said of Gay, "who should continue to grow."Last year, the Cardinals' starting cornerbacks were Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Roderick Hood. McFadden is expected to compete with Hood for the starting gig.
