Colts sign CB Hayden to 5-year deal

The Indianapolis Colts, who were prepared to franchise CB Kelvin Hayden if necessary, have agreed to a 5-year contract worth $43 million with Hayden. The deal includes $22 million in guaranteed money.
"Needless to say, Kelvin is very happy,'' Fletcher Smith, Hayden's agent, said Wednesday night. "The (contract) just made a lot of sense for us.''
Hayden has had 3 interceptions in each of the past 2 seasons and has started 26 games during that span.

Hayden counts $6-$7 million towards the cap in 2009.
