I might watch the Pro Bowl...in 2010
The NFL needed to do something. In an event that is supposed to showcase it's best players, the Pro Bowl lags other sports in interest and appeal.
Part of the success of the NBA and MLB All-Star games is due to the timing of the event. The game is played at a time when meaningful basketball and baseball, respectively, are being played.
While it certainly would be difficult to play the Pro Bowl in the middle of the season like the other sports do, the 2010 Pro Bowl will be played at a time when the NFL has the most attention - the week before the Super Bowl.
It would make the most sense to play the game in the city that is hosting the Super Bowl, but the most important thing would be to play the game before (not after) the Super Bowl.

"We are looking at alternatives to strengthen the Pro Bowl," NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement Tuesday. "We will evaluate this concept after the 2010 Pro Bowl."Miami will host the Pro Bowl on January 31, 2010. Games will be rotated and some could be played in Honolulu, which has hosted the Pro Bowl since 1980.
