Plaxico Burress shot himself in leg

Headline in the New York Post reads: "GIANT JERK SHOOTS HIMSELF." As Cris Carter just asked on Sunday NFL Countdown, with Plaxico's history, does it surprise you that he shot himself. The answer to his question is a resounding NO!

He was already going to miss today's Redskins game with a sore hamstring, but that is the least of Plaxico's problems.

Plaxico is facing felony charges for incident by NYPD.

Initially, reports were that the bullet grazed his leg. But now reports are that it went through the leg although it didn't hit any main arteries.
"We are aware of the fact that Plaxico was involved in an apparent accidental shooting last night. We have been in contact with Plaxico since shortly after the incident," the team said in a statement. "Obviously, our primary concern is for Plaxico's health and well-being, and given the circumstances, we are relieved to say he was released from a New York City hospital at approximately 2 p.m. today.
He was in the club with LB Antonio Pierce, who took the gun afterwards. A key question is what did Pierce do with the gun afterwards. He will start in today's Redskins game despite any involvement he had.

It wouldn't surprise me if Plaxico Burress has already played his last game in a Giants uniform.
